Welcome to Scouting in the Mad River Valley

We are Cub Pack 798

cubscouttrioCub Scouts is a wide blend of both Cub-Only and family events that are fun, educational, and build character.  Parental leadership is critical to Cub Scouts. Parents are trained to help Cubs enjoy the Scouting program and parents set the schedules and decide on events.  We also have some long-term non-parent experienced volunteer Scouters to help plan and lead.

Den Meetings

Den meetings are usually weekly at the home of the Den Leader, the location of an activity, or at our sponsor, the Waitsfield Church.

Pack Meetings

Pack meetings are a gathering of all the individual Dens and the Pack Leaders.  They usually include a Scout activity and presentations of individual Scout Awards and Achievements.  Pack Meetings are generally scheduled for the last Tuesday of the each month at the Waitsfield United Church of Christ.

Essentials

Pack 798 is chartered by the Boy Scouts of America, Green Mountain Council, at the Waitsfield United Church of Christ (WUCC) – the big white church in Waitsfield across from the VG and next to the library.

The WUCC has adopted a statement encouraging the Cub Scout Pack and the Boy Scout Troop to be open to Scouts and their families regardless of ethnic background, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, or disability.
